DAY 1: Arrival day, Tent setting and sleep
The drive to Magoroto Forest from Arusha or Kilimanjaro is an adventure in itself. It’s a 6-hour drive on a pretty mountainous terrain so you will be glad to be in a land cruiser or Costar full of friends or family to make the journey seem quicker. Once we begin the drive up the mountain from Muheza, the views are spectacular (although you recommend closing your eyes if you’re afraid of heights!). When we arrive it will already be dark, so we’ll just eat and pitch our tents. You’ll fall asleep easily in the cool mountain air and wake up to this breathtaking view.
DAY 2: Hiking, Swimming and Campfire Fun
The day begins with a breakfast with a view. Magoroto Forest offers a total of eight well documented hiking trails. The trails differ in level of difficulty providing choices for different trails based on your fitness level. The trails pass through a number of attractions along the way ending in picturesque viewing points. The shortest trail is about 1.5Km (3o minute hike) while the longest is about 12km (8 hour hike). In between is a number of other trails and endless possibilities to combine the trails to fit your fitness level and desire. After a long, tiring hike, our trail’s end at the lake where you can refresh with a cool, fresh swim in the lake. This is ensured to rejuvenate you and keep you fresh for the next activities. Later we will investigate the mysterious factory. A factory tour gives an opportunity to go back into history and learn about Magoroto. Are you curious to know what the name Magoroto means? DAY 3: Spice Tour – Kilimanjaro
After Breakfast, Learn at the Spice tour. Cardamom, Black Pepper and Cloves are among the many spices that flourish in Magoroto Estate. A spice tour gives you an opportunity to learn more about spices, how they are grown and processed. The spices grown in Magoroto are all organic and packaged in retail packs for you to carry as a souvenir on your departure. After an early lunch, head to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home or continue to your next adventure with us.
